BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 10

DECLARING THURSDAY, AUGUST 5, 2010, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE WHOLE SAMAR ISLAND

WHEREAS, Thursday, August 5, 2010, marks the 120" birth anniversary of the late Jose Avelino ;

WHEREAS, Jose Avelino, former Senate President and was known as the “Father of the Philippine Workmen's Compensation Law”;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and.proper that the people of the whole Samar Island be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA JR., Executive Secretary, » by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO Ill, do hereby declare Thursday, August 5, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the whole Samar Island. |
