PROCLAMATION NO,1030 b

DECLARING THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER OF EVERY YEAR AS “ORGANIC AGRICULTURE MONTH”

WHEREAS, Section 2, Article XII of the Constitution promotes the industrialization and full employment of Filipinos based on sound agricultural development;

WHEREAS, under Republic Act (RA) No. 10068, otherwise known as the “Organic Agriculture Act of 2010,” it is the declared policy of the State to promote, propagate, develop, and further implement the practice of organic agriculture in the Philippines;

WHEREAS, the practice of organic agriculture nationwide, as a farming system, is an effective tool for development, environmental conservation, and health protection of farmers, consumers, as well as the general public;

WHEREAS, organic agriculture enhances global competitiveness and environmental integrity, increases food security and safety, and alleviates poverty; and

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of organic agriculture to encourage its’ adoption in the country.

NOW THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the month of November

as Organic Agriculture Month. - ane
