DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM OCTOBER 22 TO 27, 2001, AS PURCHASING AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Purchasing and Materials Management Association of the Philippines (PMMAP). Inc. is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporations;

WHEREAS, purchasing and materials managers and PMMAP help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be highlighted;

WHEREAS, the PMMAP will celebrate its 33" anniversary on October 22 to 27, 2001 with the theme: “BEYOND THE SUPPLY CHAIN. . .sooner than we think”.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from October 22 to 27, 2001, as Purchasing and Materials Management Week.
