AI.:XCANANG MANILA bY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO.1169 DECLARING NOVEMBER 30t 2006 (THURSDAY) AS A WORKtNG DAY, WH1LE AUTHORIZING DECEMBER 1, 2006 (FRIDAY) As A NON;WORKING HOLIDAY, AND DECLARING DECEMBER 26, 2006 (TUESDAY) AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY, THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY WHEREAS, pursuant to Executive Order No. 292, series of 1987, as amended by Republic Act No. 9177, Bonifacio Day is observed as a regular holiday on the 30th of November of each year; this year Bonifacio Day falls on a Thursday. (/ WHEREAS, December 1; 2006 (Friday) may be deciared as a non-working holiday while November 30, 2006- (Thursday) may be dclared a wo~king day, provided that all activities and celebrations for Bonifacio Day shall remain to be observed on November 30, 2006; and WHEREAS, in consideration of the Filipino traditioh of Visiting relatives and spending time with one's family on Christmas Day (December 25) which falls on a Monday this year; and to give an opportunity for travel 'to those who have to return home or to their workplaces after their Christmas visits, the following day; December 26t 2006 (TUesday) may be declared as special day throughout the country .'" NOW, THEREFORE, I; GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the poWers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the following: SECTION 1.
