PROCLAMATION NO. 1184

CREATING AND DESIGNATING THE AREA COVERED BY THE PORO POINT SPECIAL ECONOMIC AND FREEPORT ZONE LOCATED AT SAN FERNANDO CITY, LA UNION, WHICH WAS CREATED AND DESIGNATED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL PROCLAMATION NO. 216, SERIES OF 1993, AS AMENDED BY REPUBLIC ACT NO. 8748, AS SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE

Pursuant to the powers vested in me under Republic Act No. 7916, otherwise known as the "Special Economic Zone Act of 1995", as amended by Republic Act No. 8748 and upon the recommendation of the Board of Directors of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL- ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by Virtue of the powers vestec| in me by law, do hereby create and designate as Special Economic Zone, with compunents of industrial estate, €xport processing zone, aqro- industrial estate, tourism and recreational, free trade zone and information technology park, subject to the provisians of Republic Act No. 7916, as amended, its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and Resolution No. 06-205 datecl 11 May 2006 of the PEZA Board of Directors, the area covered by Poro Point Special Economic and Freeport Zone situated in San Fernando City, La Union, which was created and designated under Presidential Proclamation No. 216, dated 27 July 1993, of former President Fidel V, Ramos, which is pertinently quoted hereunder, to wit:

“Pursuant to the powers vested in me by law and the resolutions of concurrence of the local government Lnits directly affected, 1 FIDE! Vv, RAMOS, President of the Republic of the Philippines, hereby create and designate the area covered by the Wallace Bases Adreement between the Philippines and the United States o America, as amended, and the other contiguous jands focated within, the territorial jurisdiction of the Municipality of San Femiarido, Prov ince of La Union, a5 Porn Point Special

"Section 1, Creation of Paro Point Special Economic and Freeport Zoné. = Para Paint shall cover the land and bay areas which Include the Wallace Air Station, the Sar Fernando Airport, Seapart, Barangays Paro and San Vicente and pariions of Barangays San Sgustin, San Francisca , and Canaoay of the Municipality of San Fernando, Province of La Union, consisting of eight hundred (800) hectares, more or less, subject to actual survey and verification by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Aleas that will be reclaimed frorn the adjoining shores of Poro Paint shall aiso be included in the Poro Point Special Economic and Freeport Zone.
