PROCLAMATION NO. 1189

DECLARING TUESDAY, 20 JULY 2021, A REGULAR HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY, IN OBSERVANCE OF EID’L ADHA (FEAST OF SACRIFICE)

WHEREAS, Eid’! Adha or Feast of Sacrifice is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam;

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 9849 provides that Eid’! Adha shail be observed as a regular holiday;

WHEREAS, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended that 20 July 2021, Tuesday, be declared a national holiday, in observance of Eid’! Adha; and

WHEREAS, the observance of Eid! Adha shall be subject to existing community quarantine and social distancing measures;

NOW, “THEREFORE, I, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Tuesday, 20 July 2021, a regular holiday throughout the country, in observance of Eid’! Adha.
