MALACANANG M1inila BY THE PRS.IDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1249 DECLARING THE AREA COVERED BY THE MT. BALATUKAN RANGE SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITIES OF CLAVERIA, BALINGASAG, MEDINA, AND THE CITY OF GINGOOG, PROVINCE OF MISAMIS ORIENTAL AS A PROTECTED AREA AND ITS PERIPHERAL AREAS AS BUFFER ZONES, PURSUANT TO REPUBLIC ACT 7586 (NIPAS ACT OF 1992) AND SHALL BE KNOWN AS MT. BALATUKAN RANGE NATURAL PARK Upon recommendation of the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and pursuant to the powers vested upon me by law, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby set aside and declare the area covered by Mt. Balatukan Range consisting of a parcel of land situated in the Municipalities of Claveria, Medjna and Balingasag and the City of Gingoog, Province of Misamis Oriental, as a Protected Area under the categor:y of NATURAL PARK and its peripheral areas as a Buffer Zone subject to private rights, if any there be, and without prejudice to the rights of the Indigenous Peoples as provided for in R.A. The boundaries of the Natural Park and its buffer zone shall be subject to further ground survey and delineation. The Natural Park and its buffer zone shall be under the administrative jurisdiction of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and shall be managed in accordance with the provisions of the NIPAS Act and its Implementing Rules and egulations. All contracts, permits or licenses for the extraction or utilization of natural resources already existing prior to this Proclamation shall, subject to national interest, be respected until their expiration.
