BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1251

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, 27 APRIL 2016, AS A SPECIAL (NON- WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU

WHEREAS, Wednesday; 27 April 2016, marks the celebration of the Kadaugan sa Mactan, a cultural and historical event in the City of Lapu-Lapu;

WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactah is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and _ historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Lapu- Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAQUITO N. OCHOA, JR., Executive Secretary, by authority of His Excellency, BENIGNO S. AQUINO III, do hereby declare Wednesday, 27 April 2016, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu- Lapu.
