PROCLAMATION NO. 1280

DECLARING MONDAY, 15 JUNE 2026, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second- largest volcanic eruption in the 20% century, caused massive destruction and adversely affected the Provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the 35‘ anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and to ensure that the lessons and values learned from the volcanic eruption live on and are never forgotten by the people of the Province of Pampanga, the Office of the Governor requested that 15 June 2026 be declared a special (non-working) day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, RALPH G. RECTO, Acting Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Monday, 15 June 2026, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Pampanga.
