Proclamation No. 131

SETTING ASIDE FEBRUARY 26, 1937, AS A DAY FOR THE INAUGURATION OF THE CITY OF ZAMBOANGA, AND DECLARING IT A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR THE PROVINCE OF ZAMBOANGA.

By virtue of the powers conferred upon me by law, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby set aside February twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, for the inauguration of the City of Zamboanga, created by Commonwealth Act Numbered Thirty-nine, as amended by Commonwealth Act Numbered Two hundred eight.

In order to provide full opportunity for the people of Zamboanga to participate in the celebration of the inauguration of the said city, so that the day may be fittingly observed, February twenty-sixth, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby declared a special public holiday for the province of Zamboanga.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this twenty-third day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the second.
