BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1318 CALLING THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES TO A SPECIAL SESSION

Pursuant to the powers vested in me under Section 15, Article VI of the Constitution, |, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., President of the Philippines, do hereby call the Congress of the Philippines to a special session on 17 June 2026 to urgently consider the passage of the following priority legislative measures: (a) National Center for Geriatric Health; (b) Amendments to the Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education (GASTPE) Act; (c) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Act; (d) Amendments to the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act (UAQTEA); (e) Last Mile and Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged and Conflict-Affected Areas (GIDA) Schools Act; (f) Amendments to the Masustansyang Pagkain Para sa Batang Pilipino Act; (g) Anti-Political Dynasty Law; (h) Presidential Merit Scholarship Program; and such other measures aimed towards strengthening social protection and uplifting the lives of the Filipino people. The special session is likewise called to allow the Commission on Appointments to convene and act on appointments made to the Cabinet, the military, and the foreign service, in accordance with the Constitution, applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
