DECLARING SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2001, AS A SPECIAL NON- WORKING DAY IN THE CITY OF MARIKINA

WHEREAS, Marikina was declared a highly-urbanized city on December 8, 1996;

WHEREAS, Saturday, December 8, 2001, thus marks the 5" foundation day anniversary of Marikina as a city;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people of the City of Marikina be given full opportunity to celebrate this event with appropriate ceremonies;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Saturday, December 8, 2001, as a special non-working day in the City of Marikina.

IN WITNESS WHEREOPF, | have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
