PROCLAMATION NO. 1386

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, 15 JUNE 2022, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, ‘the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest in the 20" century, caused massive destruction to the Provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija;

WHEREAS, to render appropriate tribute to those who perished, as well as to those who survived, and to those who helped in the relocation, rehabilitation, and recovery of families affected by the volcanic eruption, the Province of Pampanga requested that 15 June 2022 be declared a special non-working day in remembrance of the ruinous volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to participate in and commemorate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to the public health measures of the national government;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Wednesday, 15 June 2022, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Pampanga.
