WHEREAS, Ld-ul-Pitei or Mari kaya Puasa is one of the important hOliuays of the Muslims commemorating the end of the fusting ‘month of Namadhan in the Islamic Hijra calendar which is recoynized aa a legal Muslim holiday pursuant to Article 169 of Presidential Decree No. 1083 dated Vebruary 4, 1977;

WHritiS, the lst of Shawwal in the Hijra calendar in .- the current Islamic year 1406 Hijra corresponds to June 9, 1986 in the Gregorian calendar, is the feast of Id-ul-litri or Hari Raya Puasa being celebrated all over the Muslin

WHEhS, suid Huslim holiday may be officiully observed in the provinces and cities enumeruted in Article 170 of the above Presidential Decree as well as the exemption of all Muslim government officials aul cwployeses other than those enumerated in the said Article, the date of which shull bé determined by proclamation by the President of the Philippines in accordance with the Muslim Lunar Calendur (Hijra); and

WHEREAS, the Office of Muslim affairs sod Cultural Communities has officiully advised the Office of the President of the date in the current Hijra calendar that tne Jd-ul-i'jtp or Hari Raya kuasa falls on June 9, 1966.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, COKAZON C. AQUINO, bresident of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 9, 1986 as uw special legal holiday in all the cities aad provinces within the Regions of Autonomy (Regions IX and XI1) io Southern Philippines, ancluding the provinces of South Cotabato, bavao del Sur and Palawan and the cities of General Santos, Davuo City and Puerto Princesa, ;
