BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1477

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM APRIL i TO 6, 2008, AS PURCHASING AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute for Supply Management (PISM)}, is a non-stock, non-profit organization of purchasing and materials managers of the country’s top corporations; 7

WHEREAS, purchasing and materials managers and PISM help upgrade the quality and competitiveness of Philippine goods and services for both the domestic and foreign markets;

WHEREAS, it is desirable that the important role played by the purchasing and materials managers in commerce and industry be brought to the attention of the people;

WHEREAS, the PISM will hold SUPPLYLINK2008, with the theme “SUPPLY MANAGEMENT: Making It Happen”.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARRGYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from April 1 to 6, 2008 as Purchasing and Suppiy Chain Management Week.
