BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1496

DECLARING MONDAY, MAY 19, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN BUTUAN CITY

WHEREAS, Monday, May 19, 2008, the City of Butuan celebrates Balangay Festival honoring the feast day of its patron saint, Saint Joseph;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of

Butuan be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, L EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by

authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL—ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, May 19, 2008, as special (non-working) day in Butuan City.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
