BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1498

DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA AND THE CITY OF CALAMBA

WHEREAS, Thursday, June 19, 2008 marks the 147" birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our national hero;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Laguna and the City of Calamba be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAG£1-ARROYO, do. hereby declare Thursday, June 19, 2008, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Laguna and the City of Calamba.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
