MAlACANANG Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 159 DECLARING THE EXISTENCE OF A STATE OF CALAMITY IN THE MUNI- CIPALITY OF GUMACA, PROVINCE OF QUEZON WHEREAS, the Secretary 6f Na'tional Defense as Chairman of the National Disaster Coordinating Council recommends that the Municipality of Gumaca, Province of Quezon, be declared under a state of calamity in view of the conflag- ration that hit the town last Monday, March 1, 1993; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of thePhilippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the existence of a state of calamity in the Municipality of Gumaca, Province of Quezon.
