BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 159

DECLARING SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24, 2002, AS “ARAW NG ZAMBOANGA SIBUGAY”

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 8973 dated November 7, 2000, which provides for the creation of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay from the Province of Zamboanga del Sur was ratified on February 24, 2001;

WHEREAS, Sunday, February 24, 2002, marks the 1*' Charter Day anniversary of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Zamboanga Sibugay be given full opportunity to celebrate this milestone in their province’s history with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Sunday, February 24, 2002, as “Araw ng Zamboanga Sibugay”.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
