Proclamation No. 160

WITHDRAWING FROM MINERAL EXPLORATION, PROSPECTING, OCCUPATION, LOCATION, OR EXPLOITATION, AND FROM SALE OR OTHER DISPOSITION AND RESERVING FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE OF NON-CHRISTIANS PORTIONS OF THE SUBPROVINCES OF BONTOC AND KALINGA, MOUNTAIN PROVINCE, ISLAND OF LUZON.

Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Commerce and pursuant to the provisions of section eighty-four of Commonwealth Act Numbered One hundred and forty-one, I hereby withdraw from mineral exploration, prospecting, occupation, location, or exploitation, and from sale or other disposition and reserve for the exclusive use of Non-Christian, subject to private rights, if any there be, all those portions of the subprovinces of Bontoc and Kalinga, Mountain Province, Island of Luzon, lying and included with the following-described boundaries, to wit:

Beginning at Mount Lubluba, at the southern most point of the boundary line between the subprovinces of Apayao and Kalinga, Mountain Province, and following a straight line within the subprovince of Kalinga, in a southwesterly direction to the settlement of Pantikian, thence following Lubuagan to Bontoc Provincial Road in a general southwesterly direction to the settlement of Tucucan on the provincial road from Lubuagan to Bontoc; thence following a straight line due west within the subprovince of Bontoc to the point of intersection of the boundary lines of the Province of Ilocos Sur and the subprovince of Bontoc, Mountain Province; thence following the boundary line between the Province of Ilocos Sur and the subprovince of Bontoc, Mountain Province, in a northeasterly direction to the point of intersection of the boundary lines of the Provinces of Ilocos Sur and Abra and the subprovince of Bontoc, Mountain Province; thence following the boundary line in a northeasterly direction to the point of intersection of the boundary lines of the Province of Abra and the subprovinces of Bontoc and Kalinga; thence following the boundary line in a northeasterly direction along the Cordillera Cental between the Province of Abra and the subprovince of Kalinga to the point of intersection of the boundary lines of the Province of Abra and the subprovinces of Apayao and Kalinga, Mountain Province; thence following the boundary line in a southeasterly direction between the boundary line of the subprovinces of Apayao and Kalinga to the Mount Lubluba, the point of beginning; the points, provincial boundaries, and lines, above described being as shown on the map of Northern Luzon, western sheet, polyconic projection, scale: 1:200,000 of the Bureau of Coast and Geodetic Surveys, Manila, Philippine Islands, 1932.

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.
