DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 28, 1987,TO SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18, 1987, AS "LORENZO RUIZ MONTH",

WHEREAS, the official decree for the beatification of Lorenzo Ruiz, Martyr, was promulgated on October 11, 1980 and September 28, 1337, designated as his feast day; and

WHEREAS, the Roman Catholic Church will officially canonize Lorenzo Ruiz as the first Filipino Saint, on October 18, 1987, a memo- rable event of national significance to a great number of the Filipina people;

NOW, THEREFORE, |, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Pnilippines, by virtse of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from Monaay, September Zé, 19¢4 to Sunaay, Octe- ber 16, 158% as "Lorenzo Ruiz Month".
