MALACANANG MANILA MF/J BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION No 62 DECLARINCj JUNE 26 AS "BA T ANES DA Y" A SPECIAL NON-WORKING HOLlDA Y IN 'II IE PROVINCE OF ilA T ANES WI I EREAS, J.W1e 26, 1993 is a special event for the people of Ratanes as it marks the 210th year of the fonnal establishment of the Mission in Batanes, Philippine Islands; WJIEREAS, the people of the Province of Batanes, conscious of the historic significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies and to honor distinguished Ivatans. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare June 26, 1993 and every year thereafter as "Batanes Day", a special non-working holiday in the Province of Batanes.
