MALACANANG MANILA

BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1639

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO 10, 2008 AS NATIONAL DANCE SPORT WEEK

WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DSCPI) is the national sport association duly accredited by the International Olympic Committee;

WHEREAS, the DSCPI in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country, is staging the “12 DSCPI National Dance Sport Championship” on November 8, 2008 and the *3 Manila IDSF Open Latin & Standard Competition”, “Selection Round 1 for 2009 Southeast Asian Games” and “Professional Competition” on November 9, 2008 at the Multi-Purpose Arena, Philsports Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City; and

WHEREAS, the events will gather dance sport champions and competitors all over the country competing in the Standard and Latin Disciplines of Dance Sports.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 10, 2008, as “National Dance Sport Week”.
