PROCLAMATION NO. 169

AUTHCRIZING THE TULUNGAN SA TUBIGAN FOUNDATION, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE YEAR.

WHEREAS, adequate potable water supply isa primordial need of Filipino households for their welfare and well- being;

WHEREAS, inadequate and unsafe water supply resulted in making water-borne diseases the primary cause of mor-— bidity and secondary cause of mortality in the country today;

WHEREAS, government resources are at present inade- quate to finance a complete water system that will meet the needs of all our people throughout the country; and

WHEREAS, in response to the need for adequate and potable water supply, a group of civic-minded and com- mitted private citizens have organized the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., to assist communities in implementing potable water projects;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQuINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., to conduct a national educational and fund campaign for a period of one year effective upon the issuance of this Froclamation.

I call upon all citizens and residents of the Philippines, regardless of race, creed or nationality, to support actively and give generously of their time and resources to the cause of the Tulurgan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc.

All donations and contributions of private entities or persons to the Tulungan sa Tubigan Foundation, Inc., shall be exempt from income, gift, amusement and all other taxes, and the same shall further be deductible
