[ Proclamation No. 17, September 11, 1998 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PHILIPPINE CANCER SOCIETY, INC., TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN FOR A PERIOD OF ONE (1) YEAR

WHEREAS, the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., was authorized under Proclamation No. 1096, dated September 25, 1997, to conduct a national fund campaign for the period from September 25, 1997 to September 25, 1998;

WHEREAS, to enable the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., to carry out its fight against cancer, it is necessary that its fund campaign be extended for another year;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JOSEPH EJERCITO ESTRADA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the Philippine Cancer Society, Inc., to conduct a national fund campaign for a period of one (1) year effective upon the promulgation of this proclamation.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 11th day of SEPT., in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and ninety eight.
