Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1700

DECLARING FRIDAY, JANUARY 9, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PANGASINAN

WHEREAS, Friday, January 9, 2009, marks the celebration of Pangasinan Veterans’ Day in the Province of Pangasinan;

WHEREAS, January 9, 1945 commemorates the triumphant Lingayen Gulf Landing of the Allied Forces which showcased the heroism-and bravery of Filipino soldiers, guerillas and civilians but also recognizes the tremendous contributions and valiant sacrifices of our veterans;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of . Pangasinan, be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies,

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Friday, January 9, 2009 as special (non-working) day in the Province of Pangasinan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, J have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
