Proclamation No. 172

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 133, DATED JANUARY 23, 1937, SO AS TO SET ASIDE AUGUST 25, 1937, AS A DAY FOR THE INAUGURATION OF THE CITY OF ILOILO, AND DECLARING IT A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY FOR THE PROVINCE OF ILOILO.

Proclamation Numbered One hundred thirty-three, dated January twenty-third, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby amended to read as follows:

"By virtue of the powers conferred upon me by law, I, Manuel L. Quezon, President of the Philippines, do hereby set aside August twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, for the inauguration of the City of Iloilo, created by Commonwealth Act Numbered Fifty-seven, as amended by Commonwealth Act Numbered One hundred fifty-eight.

"In order to provide full opportunity for the people of Iloilo to participate in the celebration of the inauguration of the said city, so that the day may be fittingly observed, August twenty-fifth, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, is hereby declared a special public holiday for the Province of Iloilo."

In witness whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Commonwealth of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done at the City of Manila, this twentieth day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the second.
