Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1742 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM A'PRIL 20 TO 26, 2009 AS "HOG FARMERS WEEK" WHEREAS, the National Federation of Hog Farmers, Inc. (NFHFI), is a non­ stock, non-profit umbreHaorganization of 48 autonomous livestock associations, with a total individual membership of more than 5,000 hog farmers; WHEREAS, the NFHFI will hold its 18th National Hog Convention and Trade Exhibits on April 23 to 25, 2009 atthe Wprld Trade Center, PasayCity; WHEREAS, it is necessary to fQcus our attention on the role which the hog­ farming sector plays in accelerating the development of the livestock industry; WHEREAS, there is the imperative need to rechannel the hog farmers' energies towards excellence in production, anima\ health and becollle most vital in the daily food chain, responsible for the Filipino consuers' daily pork requirements;. . WHEREAS, the NFHFI believes i being self-direct2d and empowered to instill in all its members and actualize the goal~ of the present administration's food security. ". program.
