PROCLAMATION NO. 179

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM MAY 24 TO 31, 1993 AS “FARMER’S PRODUCTIVITY AND SAFETY WEEK"

( WHEREAS, on May 30, 1993, the Department of Agriculture (DA) celebrates its 26th Anniversary and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA) celebrates its 16th Anniversary, respectively; WHEREAS, it is necessary to focus on activities that instill Sl the general public and farm communities the FPA anniversary theme of "Safety, Health and the Environment"; and

WHEREAS, the FPA has prepared a calendar of activities in laberation with its client sectors from the fertilizer and ticide industries which include the production of literatures on he safe and judicious use of agricultural and household chemicals

and the integration of safety tip clips on existing radio programs f individual companies.

; NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic 9 the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do lereby declare the period from May 24 to 31, 1993, as "Farmer’s Productivity and Safety Week" under the auspices of the Department Gf Agriculture and the Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority.
