BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1821

DECLARING THURSDAY, JULY 2, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON- WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF CAGAYAN

WHEREAS, Thursday, July 2, 2009, marks the observance of the feast day of Our Lady of Piat in the Province of Cagayan;

WHEREAS, to enable devout Cagayanos to observe in piety this liturgical festivity, deeply entrenched in the culture and sense of identity of the Cagayanos, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Cagayan be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies; 7

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL- ARROYO, do hereby declare Thursday, July 2, 2009, as special (non- working) day in the Province of Cagayan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
