WHERBAG, the Philippine Associntion of Secial Workers will hold the £VIth Biennial Nat-onal Conference of Sociul Workers on November 2e to 23, 1487, at the Philippine Secial Science Venter in “uezon City;

WHEREAS, the theme of the Gonference in "Socinl Work: The trofessicn anu National fransfermatiec” and the objectives are (4) to examine and apulyae the interrelationships of the current social, politics1, fconomic ana cultursl factors affecting the stute of the nation; (b) to essess current social work practice itt the lirht of the present problens conlronting the nation, and (c) to exchanje forward-looking practice models that would accelerate natiosal transformation; and

WHEREAS, it is desirable tnat the important role played by social workers in the development of the nation be brourht to the attention of the people;

NGW, THEREFCRE, I, CORAZON C. AQUING, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 22 to 28, 1937, as "Social Welfare Week",
