Manila ‘BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 1858

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2009, AS SPECIAL (NON- WORKING) BDAY IN THE PROVINCE OF IFUGAO

WHEREAS, Wednesday, September 2, 2009 marks the 64°" anniversary of the surrender of Japanese forces under General Tomoyuki Yamashita to the combined Filipino and American forces in Kiangan, Ifu.jao;

WHEREAS, the conclusion of the Second Word War in the Philippines is a moment of glory in our national history;

WHEREAS, in order to give the people of the Province of Ifugao the opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, it is fitting to declare September 2, 2009 as special non-working day.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Wednesday, september 2 2, 2009, as special ‘son-working) day in the Province of Ifugaa.
