DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 8 TO 14, 1979, AS NATIONAL SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK AND CREATING A COMMITTEE TO TAKE CHARGE OF ITS OBSERVANCE.

In order to give impetus to the role of science in the development of the country, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from July 8 to 14, 1979, as National Science and Technology Week to be observed throughout the country in schools, colleges and universities, with appropriate ceremonies, under the sponsorship of the National Science Development Board.

The following are hereby designated members of a committee to take charge of the national observance of the Week:

The Minister of Economic Planning	Member

The Minister of Energy	Member
The President, University of the Philippines System	Member
The President, Council of Technology and Allied Sciences of the Philippines	Member
The President, Chamber of Agriculture and Natural Resources	Member
The President, Philippine Chamber Industries	Member
The President National Press Club of the Philippines	Member

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
