WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactan is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the residents of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

Now, THEREFORE, |, LEANDRO R. MENDOZA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLoria MACAPAGAL-ArrRoyo, do hereby declare Tuesday, April 27, 2010, as special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.
