BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 205

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 2002, AS A SPECIAL NON- WORKING DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF LAGUNA

WHEREAS, Wednesday, June 19, 2002, marks the 141st birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, our national hero;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the residents of Laguna, his birthplace, should be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me in Book I, Chapter 7, Section 27, of the Administrative Code of 1987, do hereby declare Wednesday, June 19, 2002, as a special non- working day in the Province of Laguna.
