BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATTON NO. 209

DECLARING JANUARY 25, 1988, FEBRUARY 1, 8, and 15, 1998, AS SPECIAL DAYS IN CERTAIN PROVINCES, CITIES anbD MUNICIPALITIES.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 1 of R.A. No. 6636, as amended by R.A. No. 6637, calling for the holding of elections of local officials on January 13, 1938, the Yresident issued Proclamation No. 205, dated January 15, 1983, declaring January 18, 1988, as special day through out the Philippines to give the péople fullest opportunity to participate in said elections;

WHEREAS, the Commission on Elections postponed the holding ef local elections in certain areas of the country due to unstable conditions obtaining therein and reset the same to different dates; ,

WHEREAS, the days scheduled by the Commission on Electiens for local elections in said a~eas should like- wise be declared special days to give the electorate thereat the same opportunity to exercise their right of suffrage.

NOw, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUING, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the following dates as spscial gays in the respective provinces, cities and municipalities hereunder specified: -
