DECLARING FEBRUARY 2 OF EVERY YEAR AS CONSTITUTION DAY.

WHERESS, a new Constitution adopted by the 1985 Constitutional Commission was ratified overwhelmingly by the Filipino people in a plebiscite held on February 2, 1937;

WHEREAS, this Constitution, as the fundamental law al the land, envisions a just and humane society and a gover ment that ezbodies the ideals and aspirations of the Fi1isino people, promotes the common good, and secures to themselves and their posterity the blessings of independence and demo-— eracy uncer the rule of law and a regime of truth, justice freedom, love, equality, and peace; and

WHEREAS, in order to instill in the hearts and minds of the Pilipino peovle the democratic principles and the noble and lofty ideals enshrined in the Constitution, it is but fitting that a day be set aside as CONSTITU jETON DAY vO give the filipino people the opportunity to consecrate and dedicate therselves to the Constitution and ronder on the significance thereof. '

NOW, ZTEZREFCRE, I, CORAZON C. A,UINO, President of the Fhilippines, by vir rtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the end day of February of every year as COXNSTITUTICN DAY.

IN WITSESS WEERSUF , I have hereunto set my hand and

caused the seal of the Republie of the Philippines to be affixed.
