BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 223

DECLARING MONDAY, 19 JUNE 2017, AS A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF CALAMBA

WHEREAS, Monday, 19 June 2017, marks the 156" birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the country's national hero, and the culmination of the Buhayani Festival (Buhay ng Bayani, Buhay na Bayani), a festival in honor of the life and works of Dr. Rizal and the life of everyday heroes; and

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Calamba, be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SALVADOR C. MEDIALDEA, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, RODRIGO ROA DUTERTE, do hereby declare Monday, 19 June 2017, as a special (non-working) day in the City of Calamba.
