Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 278

DECLARING MT. MALINDANG NATIONAL PARK, SITUATED IN THE PROVINCE OF MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL, AS A PROTECTED AREA AND ITS PERIPHERAL AREAS AS BUFFER ZONE PURSUANT TO REPUBLIC ACT 7586 (NIPAS ACT OF 1992) AND SHALL BE KNOWN AS MT. MALINDANG NATURAL PARK.

Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources, and pursuant to the powers vested upon me by law, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL- ARROYO, President of the Philippines, do hereby set aside and declare, for the benefit of the populace of the Provinces of Misamis Occidental, Zamboanga del Norte and Zamboanga del Sur and of the entire Philippines, certain parcels of land of the public domain covering Mt. Malindang Range situated at the eastern tip of the Zamboanga Peninsula, province of Misamis Occidental subject to prior private rights and without prejudice to the rights of the indigenous peoples as provided for in R.A. No. 8371, DENR Administrative Order 93-02 and other related rules and regulations, if any there be, as a Protected Area under the category of a Natural Park, and its peripheral areas as buffer zone, subject to ground verification.

The Mt. Malindang Natural Park Protected Area shall have the following technical description, to wit:
