PROCLAMATION NO. 232

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JANUARY | TO DECEMBER 31, 1988, AS "FRANCISCO (BALAGTAS)BALTAZAR BICENTENNIAL YEAR", AND AUTHORIZING THE FRANCISCO (BALAGTAS)BALTAZAR COMMISSION TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL FUND CAMPAIGN.

WHEREAS, the year 1988 marks the bicentennial of the birth of Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar, Prince of Filipino poets; and

WHEREAS, there 1s need to faster and propagate his nation- alistic fervor as given expression in his. Florante at Laura and other literary works.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, CORAZON C. AQUING, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from January | to December 3), 1988, as "Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar Bicentennial Year" and authorizing

the Francisco (Balagtas) Baltazar Commissian to conduct a national fund campaign for the above purpases for a period of one year from ine issuance of this Proclamation,
