PROCLAMATION NO. 234

DECLARING THURSDAY, 15 JUNE 2023, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA

WHEREAS, the volcanic eruption of Mt. Pinatubo on 15 June 1991, the second-largest volcanic eruption in the 20" century, caused massive destruction and adversely affected the Provinces of Zambales, Pampanga, Bataan, Tarlac, and Nueva Ecija;

WHEREAS, in commemoration of the 32"¢ anniversary of the Mt. Pinatubo eruption and the resilience of the people in the Province of Pampanga, the Office of the Governor requested that 15 June 2023 be declared a special (non-working) day;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Pampanga be given full opportunity to participate in the occasion;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, LUCAS P. BERSAMIN, Executive Secretary, by authority of the President, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., do hereby declare Thursday, 15 June 2023, a special (non-working) day in the Province of Pampanga.
