BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO, 238

DECLARING MAY 17-23 OF EVERY YEAR, AS "NATIONAL ELECTRONICS AND TELECOMMUNICATIONS WEEK".

WHEREAS, telecommunications plays a vital role in the development and growth of the nation's economy, thereby contributing to the overall socio-economic and political development of the country;

WHEREAS, there is a need to solidify the gains realized under a truly democratic society through effective and efficient means of processing and transferring information to the greatest number of our people; end

WHEREAS, there is also a need to focus public attention on the significant role of telecommunications in the national development program of the Government;

NOW, THEREFORE, |, CORAZON C, AQUINO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby Geclare the period from \a@y i7-23 of every year, as "National Electrenics and Teleconimunications Week".
