PROCLAMATION NO. 238

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 312 DATED MAY 25, 2000 BY CHANGING THE NAME OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES WILDLIFE RESCUE AND REHABILITATION CENTER TO ITS FORMER NAME, THE NINOY AQUINO PARKS AND WILDLIFE CENTER

WHEREAS, by virtue of Section 19, Chapter 3, Title XIV, Book IV of Executive Order No. 292 dated July 25, 1987 (the Revised Administrative Code of 1987), what was formerly the Parks and Wildlife Nature Center came to be known as the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center;

WHEREAS, Proclamation No. 312 dated May 25, 2000 thereafter renamed the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center into the Department of Environment and Natural Resources Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center;

WHEREAS, in recognition of the lasting contributions of the late Senator Benigno “Ninoy” S. Aquino, Jr. to our country’s history and democracy, there is a need to change the name of the Center back to the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law and upon the recommendation of the Secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. The Department of Environment and Natural Resources Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center is hereby renamed as the NINOY AQUINO PARKS AND WILDLIFE CENTER.

SECTION 2. The Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center shall continue to be under the administrative jurisdiction of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources.

SECTION 3. Proclamation No. 312 dated May 25, 2000 is hereby amended accordingly.
