PROCLAMATION NO. 250

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM JULY 3-9, 1988 AND THEREAFTER THE SECOND WEEK OF JULY OF EVERY YEAR AS “CULTURAL COMMUNITIES WEEK".

WHEREAS, the government, fully cagnizant of the importance of indigenous tribal Filipinos to national unity and develop- ment, recognizes the need to promote and preserve their rich cultural heritage, not only for the Fhilippines but also for the world; and

WHEREAS, in order to achieve that end and likwise enhance better understanding and cooperaticn among our people, it is imperative to focus attention on the colorful ethnic culture of

tribal Filipinos by setting aside an apropriate time for that purpose; —

NOW, THEREFORE, 1, CORAZON C. AQUINO, Fresident of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare July 3-9, 1988 and, thereafter, the second week of July of every yearoas "Cultural Communities Week". under the

auspices of the Office for Southern Cultural Communities and the Office for Northern Cultural Communities.

All government agencies, private erganiztations and the mass media are enjoined to give the necessary cooperation and support in this undertakina.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic ef the Fhilippines to be affixed.
