_ BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 253

DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER 22 TO 28, 2002, AS “HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT WEEK”

WHEREAS, the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) will hold its 39" National Conference on September 25 to 28, 2002, at the Waterfront Hotel, Lahug, Cebu City with the theme “MANAGING TRANSITIONS IN THE AGE OF HUMAN CAPITAL (Chasing Butterflies in an Open Garden)”;

WHEREAS, the conference will focus on the vital role of human resources management in a changing world;

WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the significance of Human Resource Management (HRM) in attaining the highest potential of Filipinos as managers, as workers, and as empowered and technology-proficient citizens of a new century of economic growth and social progress.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from September 22 to 28, 2002, as “Human Resource Management Week” ‘under the auspices of the Personnel Management Association of the Philippines.
