rrtPN 7D' - MALACANANG Manila BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES 258 PROCLAMATION NO 00 DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM SEPTEMBER NATIONAL TOURISM WEEK 21 27, 1993 TO WHEREAS, it is the policy of the state to promote, en-courage, and develop Philippine Tourism as a major nationalactivity; WHEREAS, the World Tourism Organization (WTO) declared27 September as World Tourism Day; WHEREAS, the Philippines adheres to and policy of cooperation and amity with all nations; adopts the WHEREAS, it is proper and fitting that a week corres- ponding to the above proclamation of the WTO be designated and proclaimed as "National Tourism Week" to instill national consciousness on tourism as a positive instrument towards accelerated national development, unity, and identity as a nation by learning more about the country's natural beauty, history and culture. NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of thePhilippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from SeF~.ember 21 to 27, 1993 as "National Tourism Week" under the auspices of the Department of Tourism. This supersedes Proclamation No. 549, dated April 6, 1990 hand and to be IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippinesaffixed.
