BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE PHILIPPINES PROCLAMATION NO. 260

DECLARING THE THIRD WEEK OF JUNE OF EVERY YEAR AS ACCOUNTANCY WEEK

WHEREAS, certified public accountants, by reason of their profession, constitute a vital sector in the development of the national economy;

WHEREAS, it appears that the accountancy poeteqeton in the Philippines has grouped itself into four (4) mejor sectors, nemely, Certified Public Accountants in government who have orgenized themseives into the Government Association of CPAs or GACPA, the Certified Public Accountants in Publie Prectice who have organized themselves into the Association of CPis

in Public Practice or ACPAPP, the Certified Public Accountents in Commerce end Industry who have orgenized themselves into

the Association of CPAs in Commerce end Industry or ACPACI, the Certifisd Public Accountents in Educetion who heve organized

themselves into the Associztion of CPAs in Education or ACPAE, and, the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountents or FICPA whose membership cuts acress the various sectors; and WHEREAS, the role pleyed by certified public accountants deserves wide dissemination for greeter public attention;

NOW, THOREFO.E, I, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of th Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by lew, do hereby declare the third week of June of every year es Accountancy Week, the nationwide celebration of which shall’ be principally underteken under the auspices of the aforementioned agerupations of Certified Fublic Accountants in round-robin fashion starving with GACPA for the year 1988 and se on es to the cther asso-
