PROCLAMATION NO. 264

KSTABLISHING AS UMIRAY RIVER WATERSHED RESERVATION FOR PUR~ POSES OF PROTECTION, MAINTENANCE, AND IMPROVEMENT OF ITS WATER YIELD AND TO PROVIDE RESTRAINING MECHANISM FOR INAPPROPRIATE FOREST EXPLOITATION AND DISRUPTIVE LAND-USE, A CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF GENERAL NAKAR, PROVINCE OF QUEZON, MUNIPALITY OF NORZAGARAY, PROVINCE OF BULACAN,

AND MUNICIPALITY OF MONTALBAN, PROVINCE OF RIZAL ISLAND OF LUZON, PHILIPPINES

Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Environment and Natural Resources and pursuant to the powers vested in me by. law, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from entry, sale, disposition, or settle- ment and set aside as Umiray River Watershed Reservation, subject to private rights, if any there be, and to the opera~ tions of previous proclamations reserving any portion thereof for specific purposes and to the implementation of socially- oriented projects and other forestry development programs consistent with the objectives of the proclamation as maybe determined by the Secretary of Environment and Natural Re- sources, a certain parcel of land of the public domain located in the municipality of General Nakar, Province of Quezon, municipality of Norzagaray, Province of Bulacan and Muni- cipality of Montalban, province of Rizal, as shown in the Watershed Map No. 111 with the following descriptions:

Beginning at point "1" on the map, a point designated as corner "1", is located S 67°00' W, 5,875 meters from the junction of Umiray and Surmag River;

The area covered by the watershed reservation shall be under the administrative jurisdiction, supervision, and control of the Department of Environment and Natural Re- sources, through its Forest Management Bureau, in coordi- nation with other agencies of the government, with «the objective of maintaining its usefulness as a source of water for domestic use, irrigation, and other forestry purposes,
