DECLARING EVERY SECOND SUNDAY OF MAY AS "MOTHER'S DAY". AND THIRD SUNDAY OF JUNE aS “FATHER'S DaY" IN THE PEILIPFIRES.

WHEREAS, the Constitution of the Republic of the Philippiges declares that "Marriage, as an inviolable social institution, is the foundation of the family and shall be protected by the State";

WHEREAS, the wholesome growth and normal activities of the family are in the hands of the parents, the wise exercise of whose authority is essential to the fulfil- ment of the natural and proper ends of the family; and

WHEREAS, it is only fitting and proper to dedicate certain days of the year to confer tribute to the important role of the Filipino mothers and fathers in instilling and fostering love, respect, discipline, industry and enterprise within their home and the com- munity where they belong, and to further manifest the iceals and virtues of good parenthood;.

NOW, THEREPURE, I, CORAZON C. AUINO, President. of the rhilippines ’ by’ virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do her reby declare the second Sunday of Nay : as "Mother's Day" or "RaW NG MGa INA" and the third Sunday of June as “Father's Day" or "ARAw NG MGA AMA".

This supersedes Proclamation No. 2037, dated November 27, 1980. -
