PROCLAMATION NO. 270

AUTHORIZING THE NATIONAL MUSEUM TO CONDUCT A NATIONAL -EDUCATIONAL AND FUND CAMPAIGN FOR THE PERIOD FROM JUNE 12, 1988 TO JUNE 12, 1989.

WHEREAS, Article II, Section 17 of the 1987 Constitution declares aS ‘a state policy, that, among other things, it shall "give = priority to . . . arts and culture to foster patriotism and nationalism, J accelerate social progress, and promote total human liberation and development";

WHEREAS, the National Museum has been established to serve as the repository for the country's historic and cultural treasures to enhance the Filipino's racial pride and identity;

WHEREAS, there is an urgent need for the National Museum to be rehabilitated and strengthened in order that it may more effi-

ciently and effectively undertake its unique role in nation-building; and

WHEREAS, the rehabilitation of the National Museum should ). be the concern of all Filipinos, and should have their unstinting + a support, monetary and otherwise;

NOW, THEREFORE, 1, CORAZON C. AQUINO, President of the Philippines by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby authorize the National Museum to conduct a national educational and fund campaign for the period June 12, 1988 to June 12,°1989.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
